RUA GONÇALO DE CARVALHO

After being called “the world’s most beautiful street” by the Portuguese blog A Sombra Verde, Gonçalo de Carvalho Street has never been the same. Images of the green tunnel made of Tipuana Tipu trees that have been planted over 70 years ago went viral on web and directed discussions on social media.

The buzz about the beauty of the trees and their shade length filled the neighborhood with vanity and increased the arrival of tourists on the street that divides Independência and Floresta districts. Many have included this street on their sight route. The picture of crossed branches covering the lane is the perfect background landscape for an idyllic memento.
