Welcome!

The third edition of the touristic guide The Best of Porto Alegre – 2017/18 – confirms the expectation that we had since the creation of the project. The attractions of the city just do not fit on a tiny, foldable flyer. They deserve a special format: elaborate, impeccable and lasting like this one on your screen. The printed version can be acquired at bookshops and newsstands of the capital.

The book, with hardcover, coated paper and bilingual edition (Portuguese/English), brings up informations about nice places in the capital of multiple cultures and different ethnics. As hosts, we want the visitor to take the best of memories from our home.

For that we have invested in a content that values the story of this lady called Porto Alegre, each day younger with its 245 years old, celebrated in 2017.

By visiting the sections on the website, you will find a more beautiful and pleasant-to- read guide. Besides using a colour palette with new tonalities, we have changed the icons and created another text area for divulging what is more special in each establishment.

Emotional cartography

The main subject shows that the city renews itself and changes its shape by investing on leisure. Outdoor activities make of it multiple and welcoming. After all there are 625 squares, eight parks and almost 50 kilometers of bicycle paths to be enjoyed.

What about go sightseeing it on foot or by bike? Trace your personal map, going around from one district to the other. The emotional cartography of a city comes from the pedestrian’s curiosity of going beyond, from the capacity of surprising himself and following his intuition.

Finally, we want to thank the support of our partners. Also, we want to achieve another great target: to repeat the success of the previous editions, which conquered the Troféu Ouro from Associação Nacional dos Editores de Publicações Técnicas, Dirigidas e Especializadas.

Happy 2018!
These are the wishes from The Best of Porto Alegre to you.
